The Australian Print Workshop (APW) will host the opening of IMPRESSIONS 2016, its major fundraising exhibition, this Friday night from 6pm.

In celebration of the art of printmaking, the Fitzroy-based gallery will be offering original, limited edition prints for sale from over 160 Australian artists. All prints will be sold unframed and will be priced at either $100, $150 or $250 (all prints will be sold at special prices). They will be available for purchase on the night and for the duration of the exhibition until sold out.

The works represent a broad range of styles, subjects and preoccupations in contemporary printmaking. They also reflect all the processes available to artists at APW including etching, lithography and relief printing.

IMPRESSIONS 2016 will showcase prints from notable Australian artists including Rick Amor, Vicki Couzens, eX de Medici, Fiona Hall, Katherine Hattam, Chris O’Doherty (aka Reg Mombassa), Jan Senbergs, Thornton Walker, Louise Weaver and Pedro Wonaeamirri. Visitors to IMPRESSIONS 2016 will also have the opportunity to nominate their favourite print for the viewers’ choice prize.

IMPRESSIONS 2016 is not the first fundraiser for AWP, as IMPRESSIONS has always been a crucial fundraising event for the renowned gallery. Since its establishment in 1981, AWP has been internationally recognised for its state-of-the-art printmaking facilities and its leading exhibitions.

The exhibition opens this Saturday and will run through until Saturday 25 February 2017.
