Everything about Neko Neko feels uplifting, from the simplicity of the décor to the good beats playing on the sound system and definitely the food. Neko Neko is pescatarian vegan and I wanted to eat everything on the menu. It all looked delicious and healthy; the kind of food that sends goodness coursing through your veins and radiating out into the universe.

 

Founded by Saori Kawasaki with husband, Tomoya, in 2016, Neko Neko does a roaring takeaway trade through Foodora and Deliveroo offering vegan ramen, Teishoku, colourful set meals with a feature element such as agedashi tofu and shitake musrooms or panko salmon, a vegan raw okonomiyaki and some superfood salads. Ther are bento boxes in the display cabinet alongside some pretty incredible looking wholefood sushi. I really am going to have to go back.

 

My superfood agedashi tofu with shitake mushroom Teishoku was a work of art with a mix of textures and umami flavours.

 

Eat in or order a feats to have at home. Either way, your first time will certainly not be your last with Neko Neko.

Jo has an exotic (kiwi) accent, loves good food and wine and has just a touch of the required culinary cynicism when it comes to the misuse of apostrophes and the hype over rainbow coloured breakfast dishes.
