Melbourne-based developer, Pace Development Group, has unveiled its newest apartment project, Pace of Abbotsford, a 133- apartment residence designed by the highly acclaimed SJB Architects.

Located at 247 Johnston Street, Abbotsford, the development will be anchored by the retained art deco façade of one of the area’s most recognised architectural icons, Saint Crispin House.

The historic site has been carefully preserved to deliver an 11-storey masterpiece, comprising a mix of one, two and three bedroom single level apartments and a series of multi-level townhouses, plus 950m2 of ground floor retail space.

Rising above the retained red brick base, the stylised architecture of the heritage façade is subtly referenced in the delivery of the new development. Light coloured materials are used to provide a subtle exterior backdrop for bold moveable metal screening, creating a dynamic façade that interacts with the changing position of the sun.

With a choice of a light or dark interior colour scheme, modern yet timeless interiors evoke a light and airy ambiance, including timber flooring, high ceilings and double-glazed windows that create a sense of openness.

Spacious kitchens feature Ceasar stone bench-tops, Miele appliances and an integrated fridge as standard, while designer tapware exudes timeless class and simple opulence.

Jack Merlo designed outdoor communal areas are dotted throughout the residence, including the rooftop garden terrace which boasts spectacular 360 degree views of the CBD, a 20m infinity pool, gym, lounge, BBQ and dining area. Residents will also relish their very own private library.

Pace Development Managing Director, Shane Wilkinson, says the delivery of Pace of
Abbotsford brings a new perspective to the sophisticated area that is Melbourne’s inner north.

“It’s no secret that Abbotsford is a highly desirable location to live, rich with amenity and culture that’s complemented by creative charm and an emerging hospitality scene – which is why we saw Pace of Abbotsford as a fitting addition to the thriving area.”

“We’ve collaborated with the very best architects and designers to deliver a project that integrates the old with the new, creating an opportunity for purchasers to enjoy a desirable lifestyle, underpinned by beautiful design,’ Mr.Wilkinson said.

Pace of Abbotsford is positioned with proximity to a vibrant mix of shops, cafes, restaurants and within walking distance of Victoria Park, Victoria Park train station, schools and retail boutiques.

With Abbotsford emerging as one of Melbourne’s most sought-after suburbs for first
homebuyers and downsizers alike, Pace Development Group Planning Manager, Michael Holah, says Pace of Abbotsford sets a benchmark for apartment living in the area.

Apartments range in size from 46 square metres to 132 square metres and will be sold at some of the most competitive prices in the area.

Each apartment comes with at least one designated car space and storage facility.
Construction of the project is scheduled to commence in the last quarter of this year and expected to be completed during mid-2019.
