STOMPING GROUND TURNS ONE AND EMBRACES THE SEASON

Time flies when you’re having fun and the folks down at Stomping Ground just keep on churning out the fun times.

 

Always on the lookout for new ways to help people come together to celebrate anything and everything, the recent collaboration with chef Paul West, formerly of River Cottage Australia, is a great example. Paul worked with head brewer, Ashur Hall to produce a Saison beer, Saison à l’Orange, which sparkles with citrus notes and will be unveiled at the birthday dinner on Wednesday 23rd August. Paul will be on the pans on the night putting together a three-course menu which, along wth the beer will celebrate the season of winter.

 

Originally from the Hunter Valley, Paul is no stranger to Melbourne having done a stint at Vue de Monde here. Paul met his partner, Alicia there and together they eschewed haute cuisine to embraces a paddock to plate ethos, turning to sustainable farming and living off the land.

 

This will be a wonderful dinner, but if you can’t make it to this, the hits will certainly keep rolling at Stomping Ground. Just keep your ear to the ground, follow them on Instagram, and become part of the brewery fold.

 

The Low Down

MENU

Entree:
Pork rillette with pickled veg and spent grain bread

 

Main:
Orange roasted chicken + 3 sides  – cos salad, cauliflower salad and roast potatoes

 

Dessert:
Rhubarb, orange and almond cake with vanilla ice cream

Jo has an exotic (kiwi) accent, loves good food and wine and has just a touch of the required culinary cynicism when it comes to the misuse of apostrophes and the hype over rainbow coloured breakfasts.
