While to market, to market to buy a fat pig is not necessarily on the agenda, nor is returning home again, home again, jiggety jig, you can definitely hoe into some very tasty food at the Queen Victoria Summer Night Market, and the themed disco, soul and funk and other live music lend themselves to some toe-tapping and hip wiggling, if the jig isn’t your thing.

Celebrating its 19th season, Melbourne’s original and favourite night market has returned to Queen Victoria Market bringing an array of great seasonal food and entertainment including unique food options, deliciously refreshing drinks and a buzzing summer atmosphere.

New food offerings at this year’s Summer Night Market at QVM, include flavours from around the globe. Why not give Trapizzino from 400 Gradi a whirl, delivered to market goers directly from Rome. Or sit back in style in the Pimm’s Garden where the summer English classic will be served along with delectable strawberries and cream.

Taki’s Balls are back, the first modern flavoured loukoumada stall to hit the streets of Melbourne or check out the addition of Forbidden Apples, fresh apples sourced from the lush Yarra Valley,  dipped in soft, homemade gooey caramel and coated in delicious combinations of decadent sweets.

The Moroccan Kitchen by MJR Tom with its specially commissioned Moroccan mural backdrop and open air BBQ sets a scene, prepared from fresh ingredients and made on the spot.

Drinks will be flowing with major sponsor, Coopers serving a limited edition Amber Ale just for the occasion. Cheeky Rascal Cider will have a dedicated Frozen Cider Bar, featuring their Strawberry & Pear Cider and Apple Cider, which is sure to be a hit on those warm summer nights.

Around 150 merchandise traders will be sharing their wares including a variety of vintage and hand crafted apparel. You can pick up the perfect gift right before Christmas, get your fortune told heading into the New Year or treat yourself to some traditional Indian henna.
